Sports and Games Leaders

Sport plays a central role in the holistic development of our students, promoting inclusion, teamwork, respect and positive wellbeing. Our sports teams have made an excellent start to the year, with students competing at a high level in badminton, athletics, Gaelic football, camogie, basketball, hockey and soccer, across senior, junior and minor teams. The Student Sport Leadership Team plays an active role in supporting school sport by visiting first-year classes, organising induction activities and helping new students feel welcomed and excited as they begin their sporting journey. As U14 competitions begin, sports captains attend matches, take on coaching roles, organise equipment and lead warm-ups across all teams. The sports leadership team also plays a key role in the organisation of Sports Day in May, fostering a positive sporting culture that reflects CEIST values of community, belonging and care for the whole person.
